A rare and extremely large mid 19th century specimen marble top centre table on a mid 20th century Italian faux bamboo and gilt iron splayed base.
Italy Rome Circa 1840-1860.
Inlaid with concentric rings of chevron-shaped marbles including: brocatelle, verde antico, giallo antico, portor, Sicilian Jasper, breche violette, rouge royale, porphyry, blue turquin, griotte, breche d;Alep, and many others, mounted on a wrought-iron cluster of in curved simulated bamboo legs with a braided gilt clasp terminating in gilt brass plated ends.
A wonderfully rare table having a very decorative Roman specimen marble top and elegantly displayed on an Italian mid 20th century base. Note Tops of this size and quality are extremely hard find and often form an important collection.
This table will work in both a traditional and contemporary setting.
