Rare golden lacquer and brass Maison Jansen coffee table 1970’s
-
Description
An exciting example of French design firm Maison Jansen’s commissioned pieces. This coffee is made from solid mahogany, lacquered in a rich dark brown and bronze–golden finish. The resulting effect is a beautiful mottling of color around the entirety of the piece. Bright solid brass in the feet and accents on the angles highlights the warmer, lighter colors of the wood. The boxy, clean design of this coffee table by Maison Jansen balances the best of mid-century modern design with a contemporary look. It was high-quality made and still is in very good vintage condition. It’s also quite rare, as the design was never mass-produced.
