About: Introducing a true Danish Modern marvel: a rare nightstand designed by the influential Nils Jonsson for Torring Møbelfabrik. This exquisite end table has recently undergone a partial restoration making it the perfect addition to any modern home. Constructed from a mix of solid and veneered teak and a honey birch interior this extraordinary end table is as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing.

Featuring an intricate inset handle carved from solid teak slabs and dovetail joinery this low-profile table provides more than ample storage space. With exceptional old-growth teak woodgrains covering the exterior and honey birch in the interior it's clear that detail to the intention and materials of this piece were expertly executed by designer and craftsmen alike.

Nils Jonsson was a venerated Danish designer who formed part of a movement known as Danish Modern. Best known for his large case pieces and credenzas he was respected for having an exceptional understanding of materials and an eye for the potential of the wood and the quality of the raw materials he used, specifically Burmese teak.

Condition Details: This exceptional end table, designed by Nils Jonsson, has recently received a partial restoration. The mix of solid and veneered teak composition is in very good shape showing some minor signs of vintage wear such as minor nicks and light surface scratches the worst of which can be seen in the photos provided. With that said teak exterior is in overall very good condition and the old-growth woodgrains are absolutely stunning in natural light. The single drawer slides open and close with ease exposing intricate dovetail joinery and finished honey birch wood interiors.
