Pair of Art Deco Console Tables in Walnut & Black Lacquer 'France, circa 1935'
-
Description
Two smooth and glossy Art Deco, Machine Age console tables, constructed from book-matched walnut were created in France, circa 1935. The table has a skyscraper-style, rectilinear body featuring an inset walnut top with black lacquer trim. A “U”-shaped, single walnut support is accented on the bottom center by three nickeled, demilune embellishments. Two opposing, nickeled rods are also inlaid across the base on the sides. The three-layered graduated base itself is composed of a black lacquer bottom, followed by a level of walnut topped by another black lacquer tier. With its pure Deco form, this console table would be a natural to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly restored to mint condition. They can be sold individually for $8475, each.
