    Round "Tao Shelf" side table in patinated bronze and pewter with hand-applied multicolor enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed on top “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne”). Retains original paper gallery label on bottom. The artisanship involved in making every one of these tables is extraordinary. This side table is rare.

    Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, SCULPTURE III, catalog published in the 1960’s, page 8 has a photo of this table and in the back of the catalog is the description which states: “A winding wall united architecture and the elements. Hand sculpted of bronze, pewter - enhanced with patinas of subtle beauty. A burnished bronze shelf is supported by four legs of sculpted bronze.”
