Description

"Ming #131" tables in patinated bronze and pewter with hand painted enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed). This pair comprises the complete set. The coloration on these is exceptional.

Sculpture, Bronze and Pewter Tables, The Art of Philip LaVerne catalog with gold and white cover published in the 1960’s, page 8 shows a photo of these tables. In the back of the catalog is a description which reads: “MING #131 PAIR:The extraordinary artistry of the Ming Period is superbly captured in both detail and color in this pair of tables. The traditional Ming warrior holding the invincible sword is carved of bronze and pewter with soft patina accents of red, blue and green.”
