Rare and important hand-welded and textured bronze abstract coffee table "Wave Crest" by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1972 (signed in 2 places). After the great success of their Historic Civilizations series in the 1960’s, Philip and Kelvin LaVerne turned their attention to creating abstract sculptures in very small editions of 1, 2 or 3 as they were both trained sculptors. These pieces are considered among the LaVernes’ most important works and are highly prized by collectors.
