Description
One-of-a-kind coffee table with Chinese figures, animals and floral motif in hand-pierced, patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with colorful enamel cloisonne, gold leaf, French cast ribbon legs and custom fitted glass top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American early-1960s (signed “Philip LaVerne” on top). This table was delicately cut by hand by Kelvin LaVerne. The elements of this table are mesmerizing in their intricacy, vibrancy, and artisanship. Pierced bronze coffee tables were the creating of Philip and Kelvin LaVerne. Lobel Modern Archive retains the original to-scale drawing of this table done by Kelvin LaVerne and signed by Philip LaVerne. This table is a masterpiece.
