Philip LaVerne Rare Unique Sweeping Wood Sculpture Coffee Table 1966 (Signed)

Sold Sold
  • Description
Rare unique wood sculpture table, superbly hand-crafted organic sweeping and curving form in wood with thick customized glass top by Philip LaVerne, American 1966 (signed "Philip LaVerne” engraved into the wood on top). In 1966 Philip LaVerne experimented with wood sculptures for a period of one year so there are very few. This piece is constructed of rectangular wood blocks, each cut and molded to form a continuous curvaceous form which is supremely difficult. The craftsmanship is off the charts. The glass top was designed for the base.
