Gabbiano table by Pierluigi Ghianda from 1970.
Gabbiano table designed and made by Pierluigi Ghianda in 1970. The table is called "Gabbiano" for its innovative opening system.
Thanks to the pin located in the center of the top, the table can easily close and open. Lifting the central pin activates the closing mechanism of the table, thanks to two conductors that activate the metal hinges. The table supports are designed so that once the mechanism is activated, they can close in wallets to facilitate the closure of the end of the support surface.
Technical features:
The structure of the table is pear wood while its top is in formica. The table is supported by 4 parallelepipeds joined together. Peculiarity of the table is its geometric rigor and executive perfection make this piece a practical object but at the same time elegant and modern.
