PRESIDENT MAHOGANY DESK (1962)
-
Description
"President" desk by Pierre Guariche, produced by Les Huchers-Minvielle in 1962. A large mahogany top opens with two drawers in the belt, and a niche veneered with white laminate on the visitor side. The chromed metal X-frame is connected by a spacer. A rare model with modernist contours, impeccable manufacturing quality, which will fit into different worlds.
Designer:
Pierre Guariche (1926-1995), emblematic French designer, graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in 1949. After a stay with Marcel Gascoin, he exhibited at the Salon des Arts Ménagers and then at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs. He arouses the interest of certain Airborne editors, Pierre Disderot, Steiner, for whom he creates furniture and lighting. The “President” desk produced by Les Huchers-Minvielle in the early 1960s is an unusual model, popular with amateurs and collectors. -
