Raymond Subes is one of the major designers of the 1920s to the 1940. He collaborated with many famous architects and artists of his time. He also participated in the major exhibitions such as Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in 1925, which set the Art Deco style on the world stage and the Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1937.

He is famous of his iron works, alongside with Gilbert Poillerat and André Arbus, Raymond Subes was one of the greatest designers of the 1940s style. In 1958, he was elected a member of the French Académie des Beaux-arts.
