Description
This unique black shagreen dining table displays Seff’s masterful application of exotic natural materials to his elegant, demure designs. Featuring a white bone inlay trim, the tabletop rests on two semi-cylindrical plinths. Seff’s addition of two gunmetal decorative bases subtly glamorizes the piece. It is in excellent condition.
Seff’s pieces epitomize the custom approach to design popular during the period in which he worked. Each piece was handmade by artisans trained by the early masters of twentieth-century European design. This particular table presents a unique opportunity to acquire a vintage piece in excellent condition made with a level of artistry unmatched today.
Todd Merrill Studio is the exclusive representative of Ron Seff’s vintage collection. The present selection features the artist’s original showroom models and prototypes, most dating back to the early 1980s. None of these designs will be produced again and most of the remaining works are the last from their original production series.
