Rare Handcrafted Iron and Smoked Murano Glass Brutalist Console, Italy 1970
-
Description
This one of a kind iron and glass Brutalist style console table is a work of art. Handcrafted in Italy by Salvino Marsura (Born 1938 in Treviso. Veneto) in raw iron, this piece is an organic masterpiece. The twisted black iron resembles the twisted branches of a tree (perhaps even a grape vine as this piece was handmade in the heart of Tuscany in Firenze). Then, dramatically juxtaposed in the center of this raw and twisted metal sculpture, lies a large solid and unpolished smoked colored Murano glass rock adding dramatic contrast between the two elements. The piece is finished with a rectangular, flat polish edge grey glass top which is simply placed on top of the iron structure. This console is on display at the Gallery at 200 Lex at the New York Design Center.
