Description Charming and spectacular, this remarkable 19th century Swedish console provides your space with warmth while not sacrificing style. The table has been carved and painted a fabulous creme with blue and gold details, all of which has antiquated over time. Both the top and base are faux-finished to look like marble. The top being white with gray, rust and blue veins throughout and the base painted black with gray and ecru veins. The console is lifted by four slender, turned legs that have both carved and painted details. Swedish furniture often incorporates the major styles from across Europe, combining them into their own, unique interpretation. This antique console blends Napoleon’s French Empire with elements of Louis XVI design. Swedish pieces are almost always painted in light colors or made of bleached wood: often the inexpensive and abundant pine found there. Scandinavian winters are long and dark. Swedes will lighten their living spaces with these warmer painted pieces. They provide a cozy, lived-in esthetic that makes your home really feel like home.
