Shanty 1 Hydroplane Boat c.1957. The owner Bill Waggoner had this brooch custom made as a gift to his wife after winning the Harmsworth Trophy, the Mile High Trophy, the Seafair Trophy and winning the National Championship. Beautifully constructed realistic model of the hydroplane in 14 karat gold, decorated in channel set rubies & finished with enamel. Unsigned, but most likely manufactured by one of the top jewelry houses. Perfect condition, a unique piece for any hydroplane racing enthusiast or historian.
