Antique 1890's Tortoise Shell Locket with Tortoise link Chain

This locket is from the 1890's and it has an initial emblem on the front. It appears to be S,T,C in script and it is lovely. There are some scratches on the locket but none that distract from the beauty of this piece. The locket when opened has a glass front for your memories and it is 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" and weights in at 54.0 grams. The chain is all tortoise links and measures 23" long and it has a fish hook closure all in Tortoise shell. Tortoise shell is endangered so anything before the 1973 is salesable but after 1973 it is prohibited. This took place in 1973 because the Hawksbill Turtle was almost to extinction and in order to save them this ban went into place.
