Founded in 1894 by Numa-Emile Descombes and Ulysse Perret, the Universal Genève is every vintage chronograph lover’s fantasy. Universal was the first company ever to release the first wrist-worn chronograph in 1917 during WW1, at a time when wristwatches were considered a novelty amongst gentlemen. After World War II, Universal Genéve was one of the first watchmakers to experiment with micro-rotor automatic watches, releasing its first micro-rotor watch, the Gérald Genta-designed Polarouter, in 1954. Universal Geneve known for there chronographs wristwatches had stepped out of there comfort zone when making the present timepiece as they sought to create a timepiece of high style fashion.

In The 1950s decade specifically, watchmakers alike challenged the standard levels of creativity to design timepieces that not only functioned at the highest degree but also served a purpose as high fashion accessories on runways & create newfound sense of individuality above the norm rather than of the norm doubling high fashion bracelets with a function . The present timepiece satisfies both which is why it is also so collectible and so stylish. Also at a time where Universal led the wave toward the transition to Quartz this watch still houses a mechanical movement which certainly increases its rarity.

The present timepiece is a piece unique 1950s 18 KT Yellow Gold Universal Bracelet Watch. The three dimensional sculpted flower petal bracelet style enhances the presence of the watch while worn on one's wrist as the design runs throughout the timepiece seamlessly, truly a one of a kind piece created from the inspiration of nature and time. The dial also not common, which is fitting for such an Avant-guarde case design as has a a sector dial which is typically appreciated by watch aficionados.

The watch is also in perfect working condition and has been recently serviced before being offered here today.
