Description
Lee Yazzie is widely recognized as one of the masters of contemporary Navajo silver jewelry. Along with his brother Raymond and other family members, his jewelry is featured at Glittering World: Navajo Jewelry of the Yazzie Family, currently at the National Museum of the American Indian New York. (For more information on the exhibit and catalog, go to http://www.nmai.si.edu/explore/exhibitions/item/?id=890).
Lee Yazzie's jewelry rarely becomes available on the market. We are very fortunate to have two significant works that have descended in a New York family. In excellent condition, these works are coming onto the market for the first time since they were originally sold in 1980.
Lee Yazzie's buckle exemplifies very fine tufa casting, elaborate silverwork, and rare, quality Red Mountain turquoise. This buckle has a classic Yazzie design and is very comfortable to wear. We are offering it at a very reasonable price and urge collectors to take advantage of this opportunity. -
