A Very Rare Modernist Cocktail Table in Aluminum and Glass by Maxime Old

Description
A very rare cocktail table featuring a modernist tripod base in Aluminum which supports a thick round glass top. This is an original cocktail table from the first class lounge of the SS France. All furniture in the lounge was custom made for the ship, including this table. he main public rooms of the SS France where designed by the top French designers of the era including Leleu (1st class Library and Writing room), Arbus (1st class Smoking room) and Old (1st class Lounge). The table features a new glass top, however the original glass top showing the tempering marks is also included with this table. Maxime Old, France circa 1961.
