Description
A stunning Sino-Tibetan Thangka circa 19th century, beautifully presented in wood frame with fabric border, back and front curtain covering. This Thankga depicts the Orange Buddha Amitabha in his reflective Bodhisattva form: Amitayus. Identified by his bejeweled attires and crown. The radiant orange color deity with flowing green garment is in his meditation mudra on the lotus throne, holding the long-life vase and embracing its consort Pandaravasini. Surrounding him are a halo and many celestial Buddha.
A rare piece in excellent antique condition depicting the principle Buddha in the Pure Land, whom, in Tibetan Buddhism, is widely worshiped for long-life.
The image size is 21.5 H x 16.5 W. With frame, it measures 42.75 H x 25.75 W. -
