Dan Sabau
American, 1977
Dan Sabau was born in Romania in 1977. In 1996, Sabau attended a 3 year intensive foundation program at the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA). Sabau graduated from CIA with a bachelor of fine arts in painting and a minor in sculpture in 2001.
Known for primarily working in portraiture, his commissioned works are normally composed in oils but his most recent body of work is in watercolor. This medium has allowed Sabau to push his creative boundaries and offers a new complexity to his process.
Sabau has exhibited extensively around New York including with Bicycle Fine Art in New York City.
Dan Sabau currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
