French 19th Century Mahogany Louis Philippe Bibliothèque
-
Description
A refined bird’s eye mahogany bibliothèque, done in the Louis Philippe style, from 19th century France. This exceptional case piece stands just over 8? tall and can separate into two bodies for easier transport. The upper body is the bookcase. It is glass-front, with large doors that contain working locks, perfect for displaying your library of books and treasured objects. The doors close before five finished shelves that are adjustable. The lower body facilitates storage of larger items that can be hidden from sight. Here, two large, panel doors lock before a single fixed shelf. Both the upper and lower bodies have canted corners. c.1880.
