The Philadelphia Antiques & Art Show celebrated its 56th year this April 19-23. As one of the most respected and important shows in the country, exhibitors specialize in Americana, English, and European material, with timelines into the 21st century. New dealers this year included Moderne Gallery, returning after a haitus of nearlly a decade. Among the returning sixty dealers were Lillian Nassau, Bernard & S. Dean Levy, H.L. Chalfant, Kelly Kinzle, Sumpter Priddy, David Schorsch-Eileen Smiles, Elliott & Grace Snyder, Christopher H. Jones, Arader Galleries, M. Finkel & Daughter, Jeffrey Tillou, Charles Clark, Marcy Burns, Kentshire, Avery Galleries, Philip Bradley, and Hyde Park Antiques. There was terrific energy with active selling, particularly in the arena of American furniture. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear speakers, including fan favorite, Martha Stewart. The loan exhibit featured pieces recently acquired by the Philadelphia Museum of Art made by artists working in the region through the last three hundred years. The exhibition marks a transition over the next three years to the PMA as the main show sponsor.
