Rare Pair of Salvador Dali Tile Side Tables

$ 9,500
  • Description
    French art collector Maurice Duchin commissioned Dali to design six decorative tiles in 1953. 800 hand-painted sets were produced, all hand signed by Dali. Of these, 100 sets were reserved to be sold as table-tops on painted iron frames. We have a pair of tables which each hold a complete set of tiles. The tiles rest in place, but are removable. Each tile signed 'Dali' on the face, and stamped "1954 Maurice Duchin" on the back. Each tile measures 8" square. These tiles were reissued in limited quantities in both 1964 and 1990, but these sets are from the original 1954 production. Price is for the pair.
