FRENCH 19TH CENTURY WALNUT LOUIS XVI COMMODE
-
Description
An exceptional French, solid-walnut commode, made in the Louis XVI style, circa 1850. The three-drawer case antique is topped in a wonderful gray marble top, which has been cut to fit the shaped base. It is in good antique condition with a few chips at the edge and fewer blemishes. The drawers have simple paneled façades and brass drop bail pulls. The keyholes are encircled by shield escutcheons. The three are flanked by fluted, turreted corners which terminate in the commode’s turned feet. This classically styled commode has outstanding patina and walnut that has aged marvelously.
