Toronto-based artist Susan Collett, IAC, RCA, graduated with a BFA in printmaking and ceramics from the Cleveland Institute of Art winning the institute's prestigious Agnes Gund Memorial Award. Collett is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts as well as recipient of the Winifred Shantz Award from the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery.
While exhibiting throughout North America, Collett has also participated in residencies at the Sanbao Art Institute in Jingdezhen, China and the FULE International Ceramic Art Museum, Fuping, China. Working professionally since 2003, Collett maintains studio in Toronto where she creates large-scale clay sculpture and prints. Her ceramic work employs paper clay and nichrome wire substrate. Her monoprints are made from plates of stitched industrial-grade copper.
Collett's work can be found in numerous collections, including the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, the Four Seasons Hotel, the Bata Shoe Museum, the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art and the Bank of Montreal.
