Pair of Arne Norell Sirocco Safari Chairs in Rosewood and Leather, Sweden 1964
-
Description
The design of this remarkable chair by Arne Norell sits in a long tradition of safari chairs. From Eileen Gray to Kaare Klint and Elias Svedberg a lot of great designers have made versions of self-assembled furniture, which probably finds it origin in Indian Roorkhee Chairs used by the British military. With it's simple elegance this chair produced by Norell Möbel AB in Aneby, is truly timeless and will fit in many different interiors.
Arne Norell started his practice in 1954 with just two employees. In a small workshop in Sundbyberg the versatile designer made the first steps to what would become one of Sweden’s leading manufacturers of seating furniture.
