A Connecticut native, Susan Jositas began painting full-time in 2000. Jositas enjoys painting in a number of locations including Nantucket, Connecticut and Delaware. Jositas paints a broad range of subject matter including landscape, still-life and portraiture.
Jositas is an artist member of the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York City, the High Street Painters, and a founding member of the Pitkin Street Painters. Other professional affiliations include Oil Painters of America, Lyme Art Association, Connecticut Plein Air Painters, Madison Art Society, Society of Creative Arts of Newtown and the Connecticut Pastel Society.
She is represented by Sorelle Gallery Fine Art in New Canaan, CT and Albany, New York; Susan Powell Fine Art in Madison, CT; Sosebee Studio and Fine Art Gallery; Brown Basket Gallery and Nantucket Looms in Nantucket, MA; and Vermont Artisans in Brattleboro, VT.
Jositas says, “Painting requires being fully present in the moment. It is a gift to be able to see and experience things that are easily missed in the fast pace of life.
