Description
Giorgio chair by Diogo and Juliette Felippelli
Dichroic film on acrylic
Measures: 16" W x 19" D x 32" H x 17-3/4“ SH
Named after famed disco Pioneer Giorgio Moroder, the chair is made of 3/4" acrylic and is coated with a hand-applied dichroic film that casts a prismatic color spectrum from every angle. The Giorgio chair is the perfect accent for art-forward interiors and projects.
Inspired by 1990s French House music and artists such as Daft Punk, Cassius and Etienne de Crecy, the French Touch Collection expands the design lexicon of the French Touch concept chair (released earlier 2016) to encompass arrange of functional objects for interiors and the body.
Geometric shapes, exposed edges and interlocking elements create a prismatic landscape that capture the design essence of the original French Touch while offering new sculptural forms for every-day use. Each piece is milled by a CNC machine and coated with a hand-applied dichroic finish that changes hue and saturation with varying light and shadow.
The collection includes a new chair, coffee table, side table, vases, decorative desk object and wrist art.
The French Touch collection is designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, California.
Diogo and Juliette Felippelli founded Joogii in 2015 to create objects and art that cultivate a vibrant environment with the intention to bring story, energy and dialogue into the global design marketplace. Oftentimes bridging the gap between object, art, fashion and music, Joogii sees all design disciplines as interrelated and essential to the creative process.
In 2016 Diogo and Juliette Felippelli were selected for Wanted Design’s Launch Pad, a destination dedicated to up-and-coming design talent as part of NYCxDesign.
During this week, Joogii was honoured by Interior Design Magazine and ICFF as an “Emerging Talent” at the inaugural NYCxDesign awards
that celebrates outstanding talent across major areas of design.
Hospitality Design Magazine named Diogo and Juliette Felippelli as one of five product designers to watch and referred to their French Touch Collection as “the Memphis movement for the 21st century”. -
