    A bench from the Chandigarh High Court by Pierre Jeanneret. The bench stands on four teak legs and has a black cowskin upholstery.

    In 1950 the world renowned architect Le Corbusier was asked to design the capital of the states of Haryana and Punjab in the newly independent India. Le Corbusier designed the master plan and a number of buildings. Pierre Jeanneret, his cousin, served as the site architect and was responsible for all the furniture or Equipment as Le Corbusier prefered to call it. For this project the steppeda way from mass produced steel and relayed on the skills of local craftsmen. Jeanneret also designed several buildings for the city and the furniture for many projects, including the High Court.
