Fine English, George III period, circa 1785, letter or dresser box of rectangular form and satinwood case with hinged top having geometric inlaid mixed woods border surrounding central decoupaged engraved paper print of a putto with harp riding on the back of a lion in mixed woods inlay oval and outer wreath of inlaid green-stained boxwood above original herringbone woven pattern paper-lined interior surmounting inlaid key-hole escutcheon and bottom pull-out drawer with turned vegetable ivory (tagua nut) knob.
