Rare "Surrealistic" console table in patinated bronze and pewter with hand painted polychrome enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Kelvin LaVerne” on bottom right on table top). This is an extremely rare table.
Reference:”The Art of Philip LaVerne, Sculpture II, Bronze and Pewter Tables, catalog published in the 1960’s, photo shown on page 14 with description on page 42 which states: “A superb example of enamel coloring, combined with fantasy and freedom of design, have created this incredibly beautiful Surrealistic piece. The top is carved of bronze and pewter. The legend of Leda and the Swan in tones of blues and greens is depicted on the top. A supporting sculpture of bronze is contrasted against the stark simplicity of two legs to become the base.” -
