This substantial oak table was carved by hand in France, circa 1750. The table's apron features exceptionally detailed and extensive ornamentation. Its legs are stocky, done in an exaggerated baluster form, with impressive urn-form turned details. The table is multifunctional. Its impressive stature would command attention in a foyer, and it would make a large, comfortable desk in an office or study.
