Rare pair of Hollywood Regency brass Maison Jansen Pineapple floor lamps 1970s
-
Description
A rare pair of substantial floor lamps by renowned design firm Maison Jansen, created during the 1970’s in France. The lamps are incredibly dynamic, featuring thin sheaves of bright brass peeling open like the leaves around ananas, or pineapples, similarly made of brass. The first impression of the pieces is that they’re exploding with golden sheen, like perpetual fireworks against a black sky. Up close, you can begin to appreciate the fine craftsmanship—the tiny scalloped edges to each leaf, the smooth thickness of the pineapple bark, the lifelike texture of the spindly stems. The pair embodies the height of Hollywood Regency design, highly decorative and immensely stylish. Found together, the pieces are an exceptional find and will transform whatever space they call home next.
