Rare Fontana Arte table of dramatic modernist design. A brass base supports a rectangular bevelled glass tabletop. Stamped F Milano with X Motif circa 1950.
Fontana Atre was founded in 1910 by Luigi Fontana. The architect and designer Gio Ponti took over art direction in 1931 starting a tradition of commissioning the best names in Italian design to this day such as Pietro Chiesa and Max Ingrand.
