The artful design of this dining table from the 1980’s was brought to life with hundreds of carved mirror pieces, arranged to form a tight mosaic. The mosaic is so precise that the design almost seems to have been created through clean scratches on a single glass slab, rather than a collage of mirror pieces. The geometric motifs call to mind an old-world map, with various naturalistic themes sometimes appearing.

The table was designed and signed by Eugene C. during the 1980’s. Its look seems to marry the shiny opulence of the 1980’s with the classic geometry of the Art Deco period. The result? An aesthetic that feels completely fresh for modern times. Indeed, in March 2014, a similar table was sold by Christie’s London for $17,500. This piece is in good vintage condition.
