Donà Contemporary Italian Pair of Faceted Solid Rock White Murano Glass Lamps

Sold Sold
  • Description
Also available in grey smoked glass, and nickel or brass finishes.
Contemporary pair of table lamps signed by Alberto Donà Studio of organic design, made in Italy. High quality of execution, entirely handcrafted and hand-polished, the heavy solid Murano glass bodies in the sophisticated Pulegoso technique, lots of air bubbles, so many that the glass appears almost opaque/white in color (the inventor was Napoleone Martinuzzi, the art director at Venini & Co, in the late 1920s). Left rough it would leave glass with a spongy appearance. The glass is then made precious by a Sommerso core, overlayed with smooth crystal glass in a rock crystal shape, raised on round nickel bases.
Fitted with white linen textured shades.

Dimensions without shades: 16.75 in. height x 8 in diameter.
