1950s Mauri Almari 'K2-48' Brass Chandelier for Idman
-
Description
1950s Mauri Almari 'K2-48' brass chandelier for Idman. A rare example, this cascading chandelier features a trio of perforated brass cones that each measure 13 inches H x 4.25 inches W with the original brass canopy modified for mounting over a standard American juncture box. Highly reminiscent of Paavo Tynell's iconic designs for Taito Oy and frequently mis-attributed, this incredibly refined design is quintessentially Finnish.
A contemporary of Paavo Tynell, the inspired work of Mauri Almari has made him an increasingly valued midcentury Finnish designer by collectors in the know.
