Biography George Hallock 1916-1984
In 1950, George W. Hallock, Jr. became a founding member and one of the first officers of the Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild in Cutchogue, Long Island. With Agnes J. Mothersele (President), Hallock served as one of the fledgling organizations Vice-Presidents. There he exhibited with other members of the Guild. It is believed George Hallock received his introduction to painting from Whitney Hubbard in the Greenport School District. He also received some instruction from William Steeple Davis, a resident of Orient and an academically trained artist. -
