This wonderful pair of forged-iron andirons is from 18th century Spain. A large iron andiron used in oversized kitchen fireplaces since the Middle Ages. The top of these andirons have a container or bowl to receive burning coals that would heat dishes, laundry tubs, or bedpans. These are also equipped with two spit hooks each. -
