English 19th Century Aesthetic Bamboo Bookcase

Description
This fabulous example of an Aesthetic Movement faux-tortoise bamboo bookcase, c.1880, is from England. Petite in stature and retaining all of the original components, this piece features a pair of glazed door that reveal a pair of shelves, entirely lined with embossed and stained paper, above a pair of Japanned long drawers with brass bail handles. The exterior surface and sides are lined with seagrass. This piece would also serve well as a small linen press!
