Irish George III circa 1780 peat, turf, or kindling bucket of solid blonde mahogany stave construction and round tapering form with brass banding and pivoting handle. Measurements: 25" high with handle raised; bucket alone 15.5". An identical "dinner-plate bucket" version of this bucket in the collection of The National Museum of Ireland is pictured on page 24 of "Irish Furniture & Woodcraft by John Teahan, published 1994 by Town House and Country House, Dublin.
