For sale a streamlined abstract bronze sculpture created by Joseph Domenico Portanova (1909-1979) Portanova is a listed Californian artist. This bronze is 12" (30.5 cm) tall including the black marble base. It is signed and titled " Symbol of Aspiration" copyright 1963, it has the appearance of a rocket taking off. The condition is excellent, no dings or dents, but has patina from age. It is gold plated and at the back near the top the gold has oxidized and there is some loss in a small area. Although it is not that noticeable. (See last close-up photo.) This is a reasonably heavy bronze for it's size weighing over 5 lbs.
