Description
Superb double pedestal three-part Japanned desk. The desk is a faux partners desk dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features original detailed raised Chinoiserie decoration, the gilt edges have been refreshed. The faux drawers on the back are Japanned as beautifully as the front drawers. The original hardware is present, with one brass pull replaced with appropriate period pull. The original leather writing surface is in reasonably good, but stained and patinated condition. Key is available.
