French Art Deco Wrought Iron Six-Arm Chandelier with Rose Finial

This exceptionally fine wrought iron chandelier was produced in France, circa 1930, at the height of Art Deco. With its stylized sunburst wrought iron design and heirloom rose finial, this piece exemplifies the exquisite finishes and exacting attention to detail of the moderne style. Wrought iron bars exhibiting a subtle striated texture, emanates from the far left corner of each side. Within one of the bands, formed by the two of the wrought iron bars, is a gilded scroll form offering contrapuntal organic curves to the rigid geometries contained throughout. The finial, consists of stylized renditions of blooming heirloom roses. Each of the skyscraper style bell-shaped shades feature geometric designs in raised glass. The central shade accommodates one Edison based bulbs, while the outer shades are fitted for one candelabra based bulb each. The height can be adjusted to suit. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition.
