Midcentury Sculptural Pagoda Style Nickeled Illuminating Shadowbox Wall Mirror
-
Description
This sophisticated Mid-Century Modern sculptural nickeled bronze pagoda style wall mirror was realized in the United States, circa 1960. It features a rectangular body consisting of two matching- the interior one slightly inset- in lustrous nickeled bronze surrounding a mirrored surface. The piece offers a remarkably sculptural roof form embellishment at its apex that cantilevers over the body, featuring a scalloped top, curved sides, and a front consisting of ridged forms separated by concave planes that curves out over the rectangular mirrored interior. With its lustrous surfaces throughout and compelling idiosyncratic form, this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of the period, as well as those with a penchant for exquisite and unusual design objects. Its clean lines and neutral palate make it as versatile as it is stunning, blending perfectly with any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. The mirror is fitted with bulbs under the pagoda top, brilliantly illuminating the piece. Excellent condition.
