Wonderful signed convex Palisander / rosewood Art Deco sideboard from Marseilles, Southern France, circa 1925
The wood used is an amazing Palisander / rosewood veneer on the outside and walnut veneer on the inside.
The sideboard has an excellent high-gloss surface, elaborately done with clear piano lacquer on the veneer and black piano lacquer on the leg and top (6 layers 2K-PUR).
On the right door inside is a manufacturer emblem labeled: "David Frères Marseille"
The handles are original and have been newly galvanized (nickel-plated). All the hinges are old and newly galvanized.
Inside it has one adjustable inlay plate mad of walnut solid wood. The inside of the doors are clear-lacquered, too. -
