    A large and moody interiors painting (o/c) by Danish artist Sigurd Wandel (1875-1947) with a child reading in a room filled with antique sculptures and paintings. Original vintage frame with significant patina losses that work perfectly with the dark coloration of the scene. Sigurd studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, later becoming a professor and school director in 1943. Signed S. W. Condition: minor tear, some craquelure
