Unusual English crab-shaped brass inkstand
English, late 19th Century
Height 8cm, width 18cm, depth 17cm
This charming brass inkstand takes the form of a naturalistically modelled crab. The hinged top of the crab opens to reveal the inkwell. Not only a functional piece of writing equipment, this wonderful objects serves perfectly as a piece of rather bizarre Victorian sculpture. -
